Hello , I'm Fanta.
Born in France to Malian roots. Peul and Nubian heritage. Daughter of a lineage of women who never needed a lab to know what worked.
Growing up between two cultures, I watched the same scene repeat itself around me — in my family, among my friends, in every salon chair. Black women, mixed women, women with curly, coily, kinky hair — all sharing the same frustration:
"My hair won't grow."
"My temples are gone."
"I've tried everything."
I heard it from my sisters. I saw it in the mirror. And at some point, I stopped accepting it as normal.
The problem was never our hair.
Our hair grows. Every single month. The problem was breakage, friction, and products filled with chemicals disguised as "natural."
I started asking different questions. Not "how do I fix my hair?" — but "what did the women before me already know?"
My grandmother didn't have a bathroom shelf full of products. She had plants. Castor from the village. Rosemary from the garden. Amla from the trade routes. Shea from the trees she grew up under.
These women had answers. They just never had a brand.
NUBALKIA was born from that realization. The name itself carries the mission: Nubia — the ancient African civilization whose women were renowned for their beauty rituals. And Balkis — the Queen of Sheba, whose legend embodies power, wisdom, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing your worth. I spent months sourcing 21 botanical actives rooted in African and Ayurvedic tradition. Rosemary for stimulation. Castor for strength. Amla for thickness. Bhringraj for regeneration. And 17 more sacred plants, each selected for a reason.
No silicones. No sulfates. No compromises. Just the ancestral intelligence that was always there, finally formulated for the women who need it most.
